About

Marjana Pahor born in Ljubljana in 1966, has completed her studies in painting and restauration at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design (ALUO) in Ljubljana where she graduated in 1993. During her student years she was studying printmaking techniques at International Center for Printmaking (Fundacion Miro) in Barcelona, Spain. She perfected her studies in the field of printmaking techniques at the Royal University College of Fine Arts in Stockholm, Sweden where she completed her Master program for Arts and Printmaking.

During her student years at Royal University College of Fine Arts she gets grant for studies at New York University NYU, Department for Art and Art Professions at Prof. Krishna Reddy studio: Graphic Printmaking Workshop Project for Postgraduate student for six months in fall 1995. During her stay at Krishna Reddy department she met important American artist as Robert Rauschenberg and Julian Schnabel which made huge impact on her art.

After obtaining her master degree she was involved in facultative art work at printmaking department at “Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna”, Bologna, Italy 1997.

In 2001, she was chosen to represent Slovenia at the International Graphic Biennale, in Ljubljana, which was part of the Venice Biennale. She was participating with her own art installation “Uninspected Heritage”, which was very much appreciated by the critics.

A very useful experience and a positive feedback on her professional knowledge was the invitation to take part in the exhibition SUPERMARKET – International Art Fair, at the Cultural Centre (Kulturhuset) of Stockholm, in February 2010. She even took part in the exhibition of Graphic art at the Gallery of the Society of Graphic Art of Sweden in 2014.

Marjana is currently living and working in Stockholm, Sweden where she is a member of the Society of Graphic Art and member of the House of Art Studios, ABC Stockholm, with her own studio.
