I have been an active MGC Board member for a number of years. It was a somewhat surprising appointment as I have no artistic background, other than art appreciation (visiting museums is a favorite pastime.) However, I was pleased to lend my financial expertise to help guide the organization. In return, I have learnt so much about printmaking and met many people I would not have had the opportunity to otherwise meet.

It has been exciting being a part of the team working on fundraising initiatives for the organization, including our traditional biennial benefit event, as well as a special charity online auction I helped organize with Paddle 8 in 2018. Both offer MGC the opportunity to diversify its funding, so crucial to our organization. These activities have been accompanied with more traditional involvement of reviewing financial performance and the fiscal year review. A nice balance, enabling use of both sides of my brain!

Art brings a wonderful vibrance and texture to our lives, not only in these times, but always. Whether you are an art appreciator or practicing artist,we all need more of it.”
