Find your creative spirit in this monoprinting workshop that explores the rich convergence of painting and printmaking. The first part of the class dives into watercolor monoprinting in which students print from watercolor paintings, water-soluble crayon drawings, and plastic and paper stencils. Then students learn to incorporate oil-based inks to create one-of-a-kind prints that are both graphic and painterly. The workshop covers a wide range of techniques from stencil printing to trace monotype. By the end of the course students will be able to use both oil-based and water-based materials in the same print and understand the benefits of each.
