Summer is the time to be outside painting from nature or inside doing clean, clear
images that advance your own vision. Using watercolor as a print medium we will
explore different ways to produce rich, lush monotypes. After printing, your first
layer of color, we’ll continue by adding additional layers, transparent and/or
opaque.
This class will start with a demonstration using watercolors. We’ll examine making
marks with waterbase paint, various papers, registration, transparent films, creating large flat areas of color, and textures. We’ll investigate using stencils and adding waterbase colored pencils and crayons. Open to all levels.
