Cuomo and the New York State Legislature | Our programs are supported in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.

In this workshop, artists will use a linoleum block to create their print matrix. Artists are encouraged to bring an image, whether a drawing, photo, photocopy, etc. that will be transferred to the block via carbon paper. The image you wish to transfer should be the same size as the block. Using different sized carving tools, a variety of details and textures can be achieved. Students may choose to carve several blocks for a multi-color print or experiment with combining monotype, mono-print, found objects, or collage during the printing process to achieve a unique print.
