This class is custom designed for printmakers who want to use genuine gold or silver leaf in their printing process. We will focus on two phases: pre-printing and post printing. Students will also experiment with mica and metallic powders. No previous gilding experience is necessary and the class will accommodate most printmaking techniques. Please bring examples of your work and a prepared statement on how you envision using gilding in your printed work. Also, plan to bring the master plates of the images you would like to use. This is a hands-on class and we will be preparing paper and printing images on the first day.
