This class is offered through MGC, but will take place at the studio of Kathy Caraccio. On day one, students will meet at MGC for a tour of the shop. Students will then walk one block to Kathy’s studio for the class. Open Workshop hours offered through the class can be used at MGC only, not Caraccio studio.
In this two day workshop students will create beautiful one of a kind prints. Following in the tradition of Krishna Reddy they will share a relief pallet where the ink has been mixed to three different consistencies aka viscosities. Starting with blank plastic plates, participants will isolate areas by use of stencils, brayers, brush strokes or solvents affects. This colorful approach will open the door to spontaneous techniques, drawing with a brayer and ghost impressions. The production is fast and many original works will be achieved by each participant.
