This class will open up new ways of layering printed and drawn imagery in your work. Students can prepare any combination of the following compositions for experimentation: 1) existing prints; 2) new impressions of existing plates that can be printed at home (without using a press); 3) drawings, watercolors or other collage elements (preferably on thin Asian paper). The idea is to use the flexibility of the print medium to stretch the imagination by using unique and exciting techniques. The class will cover basic composition principles and numerous gluing techniques, including gluing with Japanese Nori rice paste, Gudy (a dry ‘sheet’ glue), and Fusion 4000 (a heat activated glue).

Please note: we will not be making any new plates in this class - we will use existing plates or your drawings/collage elements.
